Fuel 757: Pay the Price, Even When It’s a Year

POINT #1: Periodontal Check Ups and Surfing updates. After my check up from my mouth surgery, I was told that I still have 4-5 days until I can surf again, which will be nearly 12 days of not being in the water. There’s deep therapy that comes to me when I surf, but I took this delay on myself. POINT #2: Wanting Nothing to Do With Stitches My body doesn’t want anything to do with stitches, so I put a band-aid over my Achilles heel which I’ve had multiple surgeries on and avoided the open wound over and over again. This lesson taught me to importance of letting my body properly heal the FIRST time, otherwise I’m going to create a worst situation. POINT #3: Sad Situations that Were Once Small The consequences of dealing with small issues are annoying and inconvenient, and so it’s not until they become a big issue that I take the time to heal. It makes me sad to look at the reality that I can’t get the bacteria from the ocean into my mouth while surfing, eliminating half of 2018 to surf. POINT #1: Making a Comeback As you can tell the moment you began listening to today’s episode, my voice is coming back, and it will continue to increase. In a few days, I’ll have a doctor’s appointment to see how last week’s mouth surgery is healing. POINT #2: Gum Therapy to Get Back into the Ocean I haven’t been able to go surfing since last Tuesday (a week ago from when I created this episode) until I get the all-clear from the doctor that my therapy on my gums has been working effectively to avoid bacteria getting into my mouth. Until then I do back runs as part of my Fitness 1/2 point for the Core 4 I do every day, showing me how much can be done in 15 minutes. POINT #3: “Please Refuel” for A Day Full of Meetings There’s a lot of stuff to be working on, teams to be coordinating with, and meetings to be had, but I need to make sure my car has enough gas in it to get me from one point to the next. POINT #1: 8 O’Clock Sleep In It may not sound like a big deal to most, but I slept in until 8 o’clock this morning which I hardly EVER do to give my body the rest it needs after mouth surgery and the head cold I developed from a weakened immune system. We have a bunch of family visiting for the Easter holidays, so I knew that I needed to get recovery time my body needed. POINT #2: Sidewalk Chalk Footprints and Scream While making sidewalk chalk footprints outside for Easter, one daughter and cousin spent time and came into the house in screaming and crying, absolutely inconsolable. We couldn’t make heads or tails of what happened and why they got into a fight. POINT #3: Consequences to Violence There’s a consequence to physical violence towards another person that fights back that we have to learn. People around us have to experience pain for themselves; there’s no way to take it away, only to be there and support them while allowing others to experience pain. POINT #1: Gum Grafting Domino Effect I had some mouth surgery begin with gum grafting and my body is breaking down from the trauma and is now sick. The surgery weakened my immune system creating a domino effect of trauma POINT #2: Abnormal Experiences I thought that my swelling face, shitty voice and weakened immune system was abnormal until talking with my doctor about what it was that occurred with my mouth surgery. Garrett had to have the trauma to realize that he was creating drama in his mind. POINT #3: The Trauma Drama Anytime we experience trauma, the potential of drama will also naturally begin occurring as well. Until we’re willing to explore the truth, we will be using up way more energy going through the drama than any physical issues that occur from the initial trauma. POINT #1: Warrior Week 46 and BMS Boot Camp This week we have eight men training in the certified Training game for Warrior Week 46 and  a BMS Boot Camp for my wife’s hair salon is going to be going on. There are 3 different Trainings occurring this week across my businesses along with virtual trainings. POINT #2: Brushing Away My Gums On top of all of these Trainings occurring at the same time, I had work done on my mouth as mentioned in yesterday’s podcast episode. I found out that because of how stiff my toothbrushes were as well as how vigorous I had been brushing away at my teeth, I was literally brushing away my gums, so I have to have surgery to repair all of that, the first stage occurring amongst all of this training chaos. POINT #3: Perfect Reps Reps are what makes a person become elite at whatever it is that they do. Perfect isn’t a place to get to, but a focus on progress to course correct in order to get the results that you want.
